Had such a great time down in Mobile last week shooting with Danny and the gang! We highlighted 13 new products for the show in the Home Depot. We even got a bit of a scare during taping on Thursday when the weather turned for the worse and the tornado sirens started to blare. The HD manager and staff were fantastic in getting all of the folks in the store gathered together in the training room to protect against any possible danger. Forty-five minutes later the coast was cleared and we were back at it on the aisles, with a 10% discount coupon for all to shop just for the weather interruption! Looking forward to heading back down to see what other exciting things we can get ourselves into! Never a dull moment on Today’s Homeowner!

Wishing everyone a wonderful Thanksgiving this year. We all are still feeling the crunch of our struggling economy, but it is my wish to stay focused on the love and happiness found in my family and friends. I give thanks for my health and the riches in my life that money can’t buy. Thank you all for your continued support and friendship…I am blessed…I am truly thankful.

I love Spring! And now that the clocks have sprung ahead one hour, that means more time outdoors. Yay! And more time for planting and gardening. So pull out those gardening tools and get them sharpened, repaired or replaced. Also, get creative with your plant beds by adding raised beds or even choosing a new location for an additional bed. Having the color of flowers around your home will add beauty and serenity. If planting flower beds isn’t your thing or you don’t have a yard, then consider planting a few containers on your porch, deck or patio…they are just as lovely and so easy to maintain. Make this spring and summer as colorful as it is warm!

2011 is off to a great start! Steve and I are leaving for Belize late January on a nine day adventure of paddling, snorkeling, and just plain ol’ heating up our cold, winter bones! We haven’t had a trip alone together since our summer adventure in 2009 to the BVI’s. With all the snowfall and ice Atlanta just had last week, I said “enough is enough!” I need to warm up! Looking forward to recharging my batteries for the great work that is ahead of me this year.
